AFFlu

or African Flu

is a regional platform for sharing of epidemiological and virological data on influenza and respiratory viruses in the WHO African Region. This data collection and sharing tool has been developed in line with activities of Partnership Contribution Plan under the Pandemic Influenza Preparedness (PIP) Framework. The platform provides data on trend, spread, intensity and impact of influenza and respiratory viruses in the African Region which comprises 47 countries and territories (afro website).

AFFLU

AFFLU connects existing databases and surveillance platforms at country level in the Africa Region and can also be used to directly enter data at the country level using a web-based interface and mobile application. It also complements WHO data bases of FLU ID and FLU NET under FLUMART of Global Influenza Surveillance and Response System (GISRS). The platform is intended to provide data and information for informed decision making regarding influenza and respiratory diseases prevention and control strategies particularly with epidemic and pandemic potential.
